The Ohio State University | Design Media 1 | Autumn 2021
Description
For this project, Ciera Yamarick and I created an educational video about media literacy. The content, visualization, use cases, and approach to storytelling were all decided based on our audience- fourth graders. At the end of the project, we had a critique with employees at the Ohio History Center.
Process
We started the project with a lot of research about media literacy and how to teach it to fourth graders. We narrowed down our research into main topics that we wanted to talk about and created a catchy acronym to go with it (ARAT). For our video, we made a mood board of the kind of style we wanted to implement which our characters and colors took a lot of inspiration from. Once we had the components created, we made a story board for our project and began to animate. We split the animation in half, and I recorded the voice over.
