Description
In this project, I wanted to educate others on how to recycle the packaging of their own contact lenses supplemented by data tracked from my own waste habits, as well as global waste habits related to contact lenses.

Process
Before I decided on what my project was going to be about, I tracked my personal waste for a week. I took note of what I threw away, the number of pieces thrown away, the material it was made of, if it was recycled or thrown into the trash, what it was used for, and if it was a package or container. After the week of data collection, I realized most of my trash was contact lens related, which was unlike a lot of my classmates. After speaking about it in class, I realized nobody knew you could recycle the containers and packaging that come with wearing daily contact lenses.

Reflection
This project took a lot of iterations to get correct, specifically with the way to lay out all of the information. I wanted to emphasize the journey map of how to dispose of one's contact lens-related waste while using supplemental information to encourage them to care about recycling them correctly. If I were to continue this project, I would focus on making the design less predictable and more exciting. This project was an excellent start for me to get comfortable with data visualization methods, and that was my main focus throughout the design process.
